6.  Slide skimmer-pump assembly on stand and adjust assembly to place skimmer approximately ¾ inches above the average fluid level of sump and tighten set screw. Place skimmer stand in sump.

7.  Replace reservoir lid and attach the ½ inch I.D. tubing between the lid and pump.

NOTES

1.  The clean coolant discharge line should always be maintained in a stable, unrestricted position over sump this will ensure proper fluid return with improved aeration. A anti foam product may be required should your fluid foam inside the reservoir.

2. Periodic cleaning of skimmer box is required to remove debris from skimmer box screen and ensure the unobstructed movement of the float assembly.

3. Do to the various types and concentrations of fluids in use today as well as the previously stated periodic cleaning, the float should be considered a maintenance item. Should the float become less buoyant or damaged during the cleaning process, you may purchase additional replacement floats.

This view shows the sump is clear. Not only has the tramp oil been removed from around the skimmer box, but the pump has drawn the tramp oil from the other end of the sump, under the machine, and around the chip conveyer.

This photograph is of a customers CNC lath coolant sump. Without the removal of tramp oils the sump would become both emulsified and rancid.
Frequently operators complained that even though the cleanout interval was 4 times a year this was still insufficient to control the coolant quality and odor.

Actual Case

The skimmer box is placed in the sump slightly above the average coolant height. Once running the skimmer door floats slightly below the surface

of the coolant and can compensate for changing sump depth. Floating just beneath the surface it draws the fluid and tramp oils from the top of the

tank. They are then collected in the drum, separated, and the clean fluid is returned to the machine.

SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

1.  The Oil Terminator comes standard with a 4-inch skimmer box, which allows for a larger variance in height of sump fluid and greater ease of cleaning.

2.  The Oil Terminator can be equipped with a smaller 2-inch skimmer for restricted area installation. Should your installation require an even smaller envelope, the pump may be joined to the skimmer via a short length of tubing but at a reduced efficiency.

5. Thread pump into back of skimmer box assembly being cautious not to over tighten or cross thread the unit.

STANDARD INSTALLATION

1.  Remove reservoir lid and all loose contents with the exception of the baffle assembly.

Elapse time : 1 Minutes
Elapse time : 0 Minutes

4.  Fill reservoir slightly below tramp oil drain valve with the same fluids as that found in the sump.

8.  Inspect unit to determine all connections have been properly made, install shipping ring on lid (optional), connect pump to appropriate power source, and installation will be complete.

Elapse time : 9 Minutes
2.  Place Oil Terminator with in two feet of coolant tank, unit may be placed directly on the floor or elevated above sump height. Place baffle assembly in the center of the reservoir.

3.  Attach coolant discharge line to reservoir and ensure its stable, unrestricted position over sump. Close the tramp oil drain valve.
